  1. I just installed buildcraft 2.2.6 to a clean minecraft with TMI. The first thing I checked was the quarry. I supplied it with a redstone clock pulser and it did not start assembling, so I used a redstone engine and the engine doesn’t work either. I quit and started over thinking maybe I installed incorrectly. But the problem persists.

  2. In Buildcraft 2.2.6, my enchanted items have no effect (my pickaxe is slower than it was before and is not giving multiple drops for coal, lapis, etc)

  3. i have TMI and buildcraft with the original release of TMI i couldnt see all of the buildcraft items but he recently reposted TMI with some fixes when i installed that TMI it fixed the problem for me so maybe it was with TMI and not yours?

  4. I installed Buildcraft 2.2.6 the way i installed it with 2.2.5 and i just got the black screen! i tryed restarting but that did not work and then i tryed reinstalling it and still nothing!

  5. How about this spacetoad when I destroy and block added by buildcraft it just disappears into thin air. I am not sure if it is forge doing this or buildcraft. Like a destroy a golden power pipe with one hit and its gone never to be seen again. The same thing happens with the engines. The buildcraft version I am using is 2.2.6.

  6. I too am having the same problem as Bighead. I first installed it manually which failled so then I remebered how to install the .pack file and did the client and no steam or combustion engines. Which is bumming me out because i found a oil gyser shooting up 31 blocks… other then these problems AMAZING WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • What do you mean no steam / combustion? Is that for TMI? If it is, as explained on the first message, it’s out of the scope of this thread.

      • I mainly use TMI to get the items to craft. I got the needed items such as the piston,glass,iron, and the diamond gears and went to a crafting table placed them in the correct order and I could not craft the Combustion engine. I am running 2.2.6. I have done fresh install both manuelly and automatic. I will do a fresh Minecraft.jar file and try with out TMI. I even tried with 3.0.2 same thing but that is in Alpha so no need to worry. I tried it thinking it was a glitch with the 2.2.6 .zip files and it was not.

        • Actually, re-tried with a recent TMI and everything works great. Can you re-install and see if that improves things on your end?

  7. Fuel keep returning into the tanks at the back of the refinery, causing it to stop working and not accept any more oil into it. I’m not sure whether it is a problem with wooden waterproof pipes or the refineries, but you might want to look into it because it means you have to destroy the refinery and put another one down and it wastes fuel and oil.

  8. When I play mine craft 2.2.6 I crash.
    It seems to be related to the pipes, waterproof and conductive. As I walked away from the pipe in my no crash grace period I could go on nicely. As I got closer to the golden conductive pipes from my combustion engine array it simply crashed. Same with the pipes connected to my tanks. I have a error report if you would like me to copy and paste it. I will have you know I run a crappy computer so it might be at fault but I don’t think so.

    Also another problem occurred when using a filler a large area with blocks, its crashes instantly as well.

      • Thanks for that guide. I’ve read it and now I will begin my report that is if I am doing it correct.
        First I will go over the steps I took for the problem to occur so you can recreate it in a more controlled way. Second I will provide error logs third I will provide current minecraft settings, mods, texture packs, and system specs.

        ///Begin Report.
        //Steps
        1. Create a world using these variables.
        *[ world name any ]
        *Seed – 100
        *Mode – Survival
        2. Begin by finding a flat clear area that is also near water;
        *get 6 combustion engines
        *enough fuel [ I used fuel ] to fill up each engine to max
        *gold conductive pipes
        *wooden conductive pipes
        *a pump
        *10 tanks
        * wooden water proof pipes
        * cobble stone water proof pipes.
        3. Proceed with build a row of 6 combustion engine to make an array, make sure to leave a space in between each engine!
        *Fill up each engine with fuel.
        * Connect wooden conductive pipes to the top of each engine.
        *Build one golden conductive pipe ontop of each wooden pipe and the merge them with another pipe to they adjacent pipes. ///No crash yet.
        4. Proceed with building a ten block high tank near the engine array and water source. Jump off, at this point I made it safely to the floor and took damage a few seconds later I crashed. I immediately backed up my save and proceeded from where I left off: the block I crashed on with no crash yet. It seems like another bug. ///will supply crash report as Crash Report #1
        5. I went to the nearest water source and placed a pump.
        *connected a wooden water proof pipe to the top of the pump.
        * Connected the wooden water proof pipe to the bottom of the tank using cobble stone water proof pipes. Nothing
        so far. At this point I backed up my save again.
        6. To prove the pipes are a possible cause of the crash I walked very far away from the building area with no lag and remain just fine for roughly 30 minutes. Then a proceeded back.
        7. Now I connected my engine array to my pump.
        * Connect the center of the golden conductive pipe system to the pump using golden conductive pipe.
        ***As soon I connect my pipe to the pump it crash ///Will supply the crash report as Crash Report #2.
        8. Test done and nearly an exact repeat as my first
        crash.
        //End steps.

    This is 2.2.5 with 1.8.1 but there’s no reason to think that this error has gotten better if you didn’t change this part of the code in the meantime.

    The error is obviously some kind of interaction between a wooden pipe and an IC2 machine. I do have a save where this error has crashed and made unusable an SMP world. Trouble is, I’m not quite sure how to go about finding out exactly what blocks arranged how cause the error, since if I load the game it will crash.

    • Interresting. This has to start from an IC2 investigation (see that TileEntityMachine thing) but if that goes up to the BuildCraft level, I’m happy to fix.

  10. I installed Buildcraft 2.2.6 and TMI, but I just have Redstone Engines ans they don’t work. That means I can only craft The Engines. It’s the same with Builldcraft 3.0.2.

  11. I guess this is probably some incompatibilty with mods or maybe MCpatcher. If thats not what you’re looking for in this thread I’m sorry but I thought I would report it. I have Millenaire, pokemobs, too many items, and a few of risugami’s mods installed and Misa’s HD texture pack. The first time I installed buildcraft it only gave me black screens so I decided to try again fresh. I deleted my .minecraft and started everthing new. I got all my mods installed and ran the game to see if it worked and it seemed like it did and buildcraft items were in my toomanyitems inventory, but I didn’t try to use them. I thought it would be fine and I decided to go ahead and install my texture pack which required MCpatcher. So I did and started playing but a few minutes in I noticed that every time I used my pickaxe to break a stone block it said “saving chunks” and crashed. So I stayed away from stone with my pickaxe and decided to go set up a quarry and see how buildcraft works, but nothing happens when a quarry is activated and land markers don’t work. Nothing from buildcraft interacts with eachother. I’m deleting my .minecraft again and starting new, this time I’m going to install my texture pack first and see if that does it.
    If this isn’t what you’re looking for I’m sorry to bother you. You guys are doing a great job with this mod and I’ll probably get rid of whatever other mod is messing me up to keep this one

    • I just think that your problem may be your texture pack and the way you tried to install it. Try just installing all your mods, but this time leave out the texture pack and see if that works.

    Don´t know if this is caused by BC itself or by the usage of Stewes Carts mod.

    • Right here in this line is the problem java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Slot 169 is already occupied by BlockDetectorRailAdv@15b0e2c when adding buildcraft.factory.BlockLaser@ff9053.

      It says the slot 169 is occupied by blockdectorrailadv
      and then when it loads buildcraft laser which is also slot 169 it fails.To load them both. You need to fix it by going into the config file of both mods and see witch ids are the same and change them to were they won’t conflict. I did this before for 1.8.1 haven’t tested/or needed to yet for 1.0.0.

  13. I think I know why it doesn’t works on tmi.
    I crafted a Comb.Engine and it said: ***:3
    Maybe the number that comes after the ID is the problem?

  15. I found a bug with the assembly table. If you put multiple stacks of an item (I had one set up to make all the pipe wires, so it had 4 stacks of redstone and iron and 1 stack each of red, blue, yellow, and green dye), it’ll take one out of each stack for every item made. So to make one stack of 8 wires, it started to use 4 redstone, 4 iron, and 1 dye instead of 1 redstone, 1 iron, and 1 dye.

  16. Any kind of engines aren’t connecting to my quarries, pumps and fillers..
    Reinstalled it, but nothing seems to help!
    Any clue?

    • Remove the buildcraft directory to force a re-initialization of the configuration file. Be careful though, that may render previous worlds build with BuildCraft unusable.

  17. Don’t forget the DUPE BUG!!!!

    This is pretty gamebreaking for anyone trying to run a legit server.

    It is NOT on the list of known bugs, or mentioned here. It has to do with 2 players pulling stuff out of an automated crafting table.

    And there’s another, far worse dupe bug that happens when you arrange 6 diamond pipes in the right way. It will produce an INFINITE item that fills up your inventory.

    Theses bugs are only one step below server crashing bugs in severity for SMP since it ruins any game progression.

  18. Hello SpaceToad

    I know this isn’t a place for this stuff.
    I have recently created a patch for MCForge so that ScotTools and ItemSpriteAPI to can work together with Forge. So may i get permission to actually release to MCForums? Your license it’s a little bit confusing though especially the Distribution part.

    • There is no special permission that can be granted beyond the license. But generally speaking, if you do provide the sources / patches to Minecraft, and release all your work under the same license, there’s no problem. The whole point is that the Forge team needs to have the right to get your work back into the Forge.

        • I really can’t be any clearer than my message above. I don’t know if you can or can’t release. If you want to, you’ve got to make sure that you can comply with the restrictions.

  19. Are you interested in knowing about non-showstopping bugs? I wasn’t sure where to put this, and it’s rather minor. On a 1.0 SMP server, no other mods but Buildcraft 2.2.6: when you put down a pipe (such as cobblestone), then destroy it and place a different kind of pipe (like wood) in that spot, the other players will still see a cobblestone pipe. It seems the graphics aren’t syncing up all the time.

      • I think they never see the old pipe get removed and then replaced. If they log out and back in, they’ll see the correct pipe. Also, the pipe still acts like the new pipe. For example, if you put down a cobblestone pipe and replace it with a powered gold pipe, the other player will see a cobblestone pipe, but they’ll also see the objects moving through it quickly as if it were gold. So it seems to be purely a visual bug.

  20. Placing a Block via Builder crashes game

    Hi I think this probably is a duplicate of the filler bug. But just to be sure I thought I post this.
    The same crash (last shown screen: ‘saving chunks’) that happens when a filler tries to place a block also happens for builders.
    A filler using the clearing recipe works for me by the way as does a builder using an empty recipe.
    To me it seems that the problem occurs when placing a block.

  21. Simple bug report. fillers regard grass as solid blocks so it doesn’t replace grass with say, glass or whatever other you want to place there. I tried to do a hollow square with glass walls and there’s gaps in the floor where the grass is. Popping the grass replaces the gaps with glass like it should.

  22. I think this may be a bug with Forge, but can’t seem to find a decent place to report. After installing Forge and setting up Buildcraft on our new 1.0 server, any enchantment that requires a block break to function, such as “Fortune III”, or “Efficiency V”, no longer functions. Enchantments that have to do with mobs, armor, etc, work fine, like sword enchantments, but all block break enchantments are currently not functioning.

  25. Hello, i’ve run into a critical error on my SMP server. The mods im running are:
    BuildCraft 2.2.12
    Redpower 2.0 pr. 4d
    IndustrialCraft 2 1.64
    Forestry 1.2.6.4
    Railcraft 3.2.1
    EnderChest 1.0.1
    The actual problem occurs only in SMP when connecting a wooden conductive pipe to a stone conductive pipe. As soon as the pipes connect, anyone in the chunk experiences a crash. Oddly enough, anyone not in the loaded chunk doesn’t crash. To “uncorrupt” the chunk i was forced to load the world in SSP, and remove the pipe. Strangely, all the pipes placed in SMP were invisible in SSP. What could the problem be? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  26. Well, I’ve been trying to get build craft to install properly for around 4 hours now. I have had it installed once before, but I had accidentally loaded my minecraft with too many mods and nothing would work at that time. But that’s besides the point.

    My problem with installing build craft isn’t black screen, I know how to make my own ways around that situation, but it’s a problem with connecting two mods. I have build craft and toomanyitems installed right now, and they both work. The only thing is, all of the build craft items appear to be some sort of armor. It ranges from the different items, though.

    The pipes all show up as the same hat, and the land markers show up as the side of a storage box, and etc… I’ve tried googling this situation and nothing has appeared to be helpful, I have also watched probably 30 youtube video’s on how to install, done each of them, all with a new .minecraft folder.

    For the life of me, I just can’t figure out what is going wrong with these items. When I place them, they appear as they should, but other than that they don’t. I just want some help, I can’t find anything and it’s very frustrating.

  27. When i leave the range at which i can see my pumps, they stop working. Is this a bug or did i do something wrong?
