As some may have heard, the update to 1.2.3 has thrown a couple of wrenches in the gears of Forge and most mods. While the update from 1.0.0 to 1.1.0 was a matter of fixing a few function calls, 1.2.3 changed pretty important parts of the engine and caused several obvious and a large number of rather subtle bugs. Krapht and I are still working on the port, but we have decided to do a pre-release of our current efforts to allow everyone to help bughunting.
Note that this is a pre-release and is expected to contain bugs and issues. Two crashbugs have been fixed in the last 10 hours and there may still be more lurking in there. Do not use this on a production server or on a map you didn’t backup. Expect this to be updated as bugs and issues are found. (I will edit this post to reflect updates.)
Requires at least Forge 1.3.4.39 and ModLoaderMp 1.2.3 v2.

don´t blame SirSengir and Krapht for this before you looked into the massively changes that 1.2.3 brought to MC! Sengir and Krapht are doing this well and from my own expieriences in coding i could say that bigger updates often take a huge ammount of time. So don´t get nervous and just give them the time they need for this. Otherwise you should think about posting in Forums again like this

Yeah because a stable version would certainly mean not being able to spawn oil in SMP. Not everything updates immediately, this is their first BC release together. 1.2 was a massive update and you expect a perfect release right away? Space Toad could not do that, nobody could. The hell? Do you even know how modmaking works? Here’s a quick rundown:
- Mojang updates MC
- The MCP devs spend a while looking at the changes in the MC update, then updates MCP to work with the changes, then tests it, then releases it.
- Risugami spends a while looking at the changes in the MC/MCP update, then updates ModLoader to work with the changes, then tests it, then releases it.
- Flan spends a while looking at the changes in the MC/MCP/ModLoader updates, then updates ModLoaderMP to work with the changes, then tests it, then releases it.
- The Forge devs spend a while looking at the changes in the MC/MCP/ModLoader/ModLoaderMP updates, then updates Forge to work with the changes, then tests it, then releases it.
- Krapht and Sengir spend a while looking at the changes in the MC/MCP/ModLoader/ModLoaderMP/Forge updates, then updates Buildcraft to work with the changes, then tests it, then releases it.
Especially with such a large, fundamentally-changing update, it takes a very long time to make a mod even work again, let alone work properly. Just because Forge updated recently, doesn’t mean Krapht and Sengir can just bump the version number and release a BC update. They’ve got to look through the changes in Forge (and MLMP and ML and MCP and MC) and find all the things in BC (which is a VERY big mod, code-wise) that will be messed up, change ALL of them, then test it to make sure they haven’t caused any more problems, then change and test again and so on until finally they have an update.
tl;dr:
We’re mod makers, not miracle workers (well, SpaceToad might have been). Everyone needs time to update their stuff, especially if they have to wait for other people before they can even start.
The fact that there is a playable version of one of the biggest mods impresses me to no end. Especially since none of the other mods with forge are updated yet I think.
In fact it is actually SDK which again maintains ModloaderMP.
He made a new MLMP v3 which everyone now has to align at. Setting back forge and all mods dependent on it.

I’ve a problem with buildcraft and Mc patcher : when I try to patch my MC with MC Patcher for using my textures packs, it uninstalls buildcraft. Is it a usual bug ? Can you help me please, I really don’t like the default textures…
Have you put BC right into the minecraft.jar or into the mods Folder?
Had a simmilar situation with an older version because I put everything right into the jar

It could be related to the forge or to ML or something, but the only mod beyond requisites I have for build craft is buildcraft so… yeah. I’m finding it impossible to cut down vines with shears.

if it does please get us an error log…if it disappears use tools like MC patcher to get the report

im sory but im new to minecraft mods i got the pre relice i extractid everythang in to one nice folder but where do i put it now? and what els do i need to do to git the mod working??? and when i put it where it needs to go is it fine to keep in the folder? sory for ur time and thank u the mod looks amasing
If you’re new, I recommend you use one of the MC1.1.0 versions, rather than the MC1.2.3 pre-release, which is going to still be fairly buggy.

i need kraft or sirsengir to answer this it seems we have a compatibility issue with minecraft forge and mac’s i was looking at the bc forums and it seems that im not tho only one having this problem someone else has the problem which is the same as mine minecraft simply gets suck at updating minecraft and then says done loading but nothing happens after that it just stops working and it wont even give me an error code please answer me ive been trying too install this mod for a week now and would love to recive some help with this i would assume that you guys are working on pc’s and maybe if you have a Macintosh try to install forge ive never had this problem in the past please kraft or sirsenger plz help me out would be mutch appreciated thanks Matt.
I found a bug that if you use a builder it won’t use up the items you give it, like I built a huge cobble structure with only a stack of cobble that got I back.

Dude you have too many mods installed and one of them is interfering with another so you have to change out some mods or if you good enough screw with some config files. but if this is not the case and you only have the modloaders and buildcraft installed i cant help you there. Sorry
