BuildCraft 2.2.13 / 3.1.4 for Minecraft 1.2.3

The official release of BuildCraft for Minecraft 1.2.3 is here! As usual this comes in two flavours: BuildCraft 2.2.13 for SSP/SMP and BuildCraft 3.1.4 still SSP only for now.

While some streamlining and improvements will be done on the next release of BuildCraft 3, these versions here are straight ports of their 1.1.0 counterparts. They should not hold any surprises in either negative or positive sense and hopefully provide a nice, stable playing experience. Enjoy!

Requires at least Forge 1.4.0.52 and SDK’s ModLoaderMp 1.2.3 v3.
(This release will NOT work with forge 1.4.1)

Important note: Though this will work with earlier Forge versions you will not have oil generation on SMP due to a MLMP bug. Use the newer Forge for a builtin fix.

    Would Sengir, Krapht or SpaceToad care to comment on what this is looking like time wise? Not a date, just a guesstimate based on what you’ve seen from that side of the code?

    ie: Is BuildCraft 3.x SMP more likely for the 1.2-cycle or the 1.3-cycle?

    I’m still running on 1.0 and need to get an update in so I don’t fall too far behind on version compatibility. I have patience and can wait- I’d just like to be able to know what to plan for… BC2 or BC3 sub-mods and the like…

    • Actually- Nevermind. Apparently this is ‘badgering’… which it isn’t but OK whatever.

    just 1 problem i have is in nei it shows engines and some other forge items as flames and if you click on them it crashes your game and you cant use the save. here is the error log

    I’m an admin of a server used by ~20ppl. Everything’s non-profit so I’m not exploiting anyone’s work here, we’re just having some really good times with MC and these addons. ;)

    We’ve been really wanting to play on 1.2.3 (height limit increase!!!) but with BC 3 due to some really cool improvements in that version. However now it seems that’ll either never come in SMP or will be here in months from now. Let’s just pretend the community is your manager and we’re asking you – please, give us an estimate on the ETA for BC 3. Just the ball part – days, a couple of weeks, months, never?

    If it’s months I’ll just install 2 and be off on my way, dear sirs :) – really do not want to do this and find out that BC3 was released 2 days later.

  10. Nice job pushing through and getting this out. Thanks for putting in the time to come up to speed and get this done. I know it’s a pain picking up and trying to fix things in someone else’s code. When I get some time, I should probably work on creating patches for 2.2.13 with some of the changes I’ve made so you guys can check them out and decide if you like them.

  11. Great job with the update. I have found one bug where the engines show up as fire and when you click them the game crashes

  14. This release of BC will NOT, I repeat NOT, work with forge 1.4.1. You need a forge 1.4.0

  15. Maybe a stupid question but I just can’t find the answer.
    What’s the difference between 2.2.x and 3.1.x, except SSP & SMP, I mean in-mod?
    Is there some stuff left out in 2.2.x?

    • 2.x is how buildcraft looked back then, no new features are added to this branch. So there is nothing “left out” in 2.x, it just won’t be added
      3.x has assemblytables, lasers, gates and a more extensive API that lets other mod integrate better with it

  19. where do i get minecraft forge 1.4.0 for mc 1.2.3…. i can not download that build of mc forge. I do not care about the latest build as buildcraft is not compatible with them.. I need forge 1.4.0 and its not on the website :) HELP! i want BC
