It’s been a while since the last official update to BuildCraft, but 3.2.0 is finally on the home stretch for release.
Numerous contributors have invested quite a bit of their time during the last few months to convert the code of BuildCraft 3 – which was very much SSP code – into a useable multiplayer mod. Along the way some new features (facades, autarchic gates, the hopper) and a slew of smaller tweaks and fixes have found their way into BuildCraft. The API has undergone a major facelift while we were at it and should now be cleaner and more friendly for other modders adding to or extending BuildCraft. BuildCraft also gained the option for localization with people already contributing translations for Danish, German, Spanish, Estonian, French, Dutch, Portugese, Russian and Swedish.
This release is still very much SpaceToad’s BuildCraft, but the code base has changed significantly and will hopefully be more maintainable in the future. Special thanks go to Krapht (rewrote major parts of the pipe code and introduced facades), cpw (cleaned up a lot of code for the FML conversion and tamed the quarry), Kyprus and CovertJaguar.
That said there are still some issues that prevent this release from deserving the true 3.2.0 moniker. However we feel that the mod is stable enough for day-to-day play and hope you’ll have fun with it.

Have been checking the buildcraft website everyday. And finally it’s here. And also with the awesome features we already got a preview of in DW20′s Lp. You guys are awesome, continue with your great work!
First at all – login over facebook/google/etc does not work “failed API key”.
Second – I prefer single package. At least it simpler to patch to server (by the way, can you simplify server installation? Like mcpatcher, but for server).
Disable some package is possible by config.
Or, prefereable, in the options inside Minecraft. Does it possible to customize?
And, of course, thank you a lot for your work!

install forge 1st run minecraft. then copy zip into the mods folder
Could we get a little more instruction? This is really the only mod I want for the game but when I download it its a .jar file. When I download as any file type and change to .zip I put it in mod folder, run minecraft, only to have it crash before main menu would appear. Every time.
I figured a little more information might help. Forge is installed and works properly. Fresh copy of minecraft with only 4.1.1 installed onto it. Game launches fine. It is after this point I am a little confused as to what I’m supposed to do with the single .jar file that comes from the site.
Put the .jar into the /mods folder. Play.
Tried putting the .jar file into the /mods folder and the game crashes after the Mojang loading screen. The error says 8 mods loaded 8 active but aside from that I have no clue what the error is kicking out.
I cant find my Mods file! looked through everything in the .minecraft file and it is nowhere to be seen? Any ideas people!

I have problem with SSP.
I build the factory near oil deposit.
Oil deposit out.
I found new, around 350 blocks far, and built the transport (waterproof pipes + conductive pipes) between factory and oil deposit.
If I stay between factory and oil deposit – pump works, oil is transfering from pump to tanks (which located on factory).
If I stay neer the pump – power does not go over conductive pipes, and oil does not transferring to tanks.
If I stay near the factory – pump does not work.
What the workaround for SSP?
You might be running out of power in the distance between the factory and oil deposit. As far as I remember, there is a minute energy loss in pipes over distance, and 350 blocks is a long way!
I understand the code might have changed for this in the new version, but if it’s similar to before then distance is your enemy.

Its chunk unloading I think. In the past you needed a chunk loader at each end and the additional pipes module to give teleporter pipes. Now in older versions there was one in the Forestry mod I think (or maybe railway)….I will have a look tonight to see if its still there.
it was in Railcraft. it was removed in the latest version (>6.00) So hopefully Covert Jaguar will update the code and return that item
Chunk loader hooks were removed from the latest version of Forge, which is why CJ removed the block (the anchor block/cart) from the mod.
If the Hooks are re-added to Forge, I’m sure the block will be put back in.
IC2 released too, but hmm, well, from 1.3.2 on mods should be “universal” so they are SSP and SMP at the same time, atl east the buildcraft is universal, so you probably won’t have to worry about SMP/SSP.
Someone asked about installing it to server, well you put forge into server.jar, and buildcraft.jar file into mods folder that appears after first launch.

There are some problems with translations. Don’t know how about others, but on Estonian translation, some words were translated wrongly, so I did correct them. Here is my version http://rghost.net/40355928.
Also letters Õ, Ä, Ö and Ü do not appear correctly in the game, but at the same time, they do in the file. (There are no such a problem in the original Minecraft)
I already told you to use ISO 8859-1 encoding. UTF-8 won’t work. The estonian language file at https://github.com/SirSengir/BuildCraft-Localization works just fine.

I SOOOO need help!!!! Every time I install minecraft forge, delete META folder, copy files in, and run my mineshafter-proxy and login, it shows a bit of a minecraft forge loading thingy or something for a sec, and then BAM. black screen. how come no one EVER has the same problems as me??? And Yes, im useing the latest version of minecraft forge. can somone PLEASE help?? I have tried over 10 times!!!!!!
Did you install first Forge 4.0.0 and then 4.1.1? If yes, that’s the problem. Get a fresh Minecraft.jar and install forge.
I just didd. I uninstalled everythign minecraft on my computer, then reinstalled mineshafter, opened it once. Cloased it, installed forge, draged files over, after deleating meta, then opened mineshafter again. does the little installing minecraft forge or whatever, then BLACK SCREEN! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Just one bug i have encountered with the pre-release i mark out an area and place the quarry on the corner of the land-markers and the markers drop but the quarry is default size. My testing has revealed this only applies to marked areas larger than default quarry size.

I noticed the same thing. If you actually give it power though it seems to actually build out to the area you indicated with the markers. It just look like the default 9×9.

If you installed forge properly, start the game, it will do a run sequence, let it load to the main menu then exit. Forge will automatically create a mods folder inside your .minecraft folder.
Always remember to delete the META-INF folder inside your .jar.

The builder Doesn’t work, i put a generated template/blueprint and it does nothing
Did you put an steam engine or better on it? If not, do so.
No, the problem is in SSP the builder works, the architect table do the template/blueprint and the builder draw the blueprints when you put the generated template/blueprints…
But in SMP this don`t work, the template is generated “empty” and the buildee don’t draw anything… But if i use the wrench to change the orientation of the builder i can see the blueprints in the builder glitching…
I think this is a pre bug of SMP, because in SSP this works fine, but i want to use this in SMP
I just wanted to confirm that it is an issue on SMP. The architect table will not create either a proper template nor a blueprint. So hopefully they will get to correcting that before full release
where can i report some bugs?
well if its here i wanted to say that when i rotated some engines they rotated but it was pointing a different direction than what it said it was pointing to and also when i made the quarry full size 64×64 the robot was out but it didn’t show the laser (just a visual bug because it still removes the blocks in the way) and also i’m not sure if that’s just Minecraft but redstone next to the engines doesn’t turn on the engines (but i’m pretty sure that’s just regular Minecraft at that point)
I don’t have ModLoader or ModLoaderMp, ALL I have is Minecraft Forge 1.1.215.
I put the .jar in the in the /mods folder. I have client. And all I get are crashes. This is the crash message that I copied from Mcpatcher (It has mor info than the one from the game):

I have a little problem. When try to start a new map it gives me the crash messenge. and if i try to put an old map in the /saves folder it crashes when i press the single player button.

hey try using [link removed] These minecraft forge one is better than the other all u got to do is extract the files than copy all them into your .Jar and than Place the buildcraft Download they give u. The BuildCraft 3.2.0pre7 (Client & Server) at the top the screen and place the whole thing inside your Mods folder and than start minecraft

I got it to work both client and server, however, when I try to connect or log in using McMyAdmin (updated of course) it says the “server is getting to start” it remains like that and does not connect, when I look at the updates it says that

My game crashed on builder. When i gave into that cobblestone even if my template had only stone slabs and glass and some pipe and that new pipe cover (facade).

Just got this pretty much identical crash log when trying to use a builder. Was able to use mc-edit to destroy the builder as it would crash each time I tried to load
I downloaded, removed modloader, reset MineCraft.jar, then put BC into my mods folder, and got error…
Krapht, Sengir, Spacetoad, I first of all have to say I love BC.
That said, trying to install the latest BC is failing miserably. At first I thought it might be due to having Modloader installed, so I went for a fresh install on the latest Forge only. BC Builders and BC Silicon both are failing to load. I’d go back to 3.1.5 but that seems to have issues with either the new Forge or MC 1.3.2. Crash report follows.

The FML report says more or less the same thing. Ideas on how to fix this? Also, if the quarry/refinery/pump stuff isn’t in builders, can those two sections be disabled in a config file I haven’t found yet?

I was wondering, there is a new pipe that doesn’t connect to containers/machines, however what about the pipe that would put things into the containers first and if no room, sends it to the pipe? The one called Insertion Pipe in another mod (which hasn’t been updated).

Every time i use the Builder, my game crashes.
I think what happened is I placed an obsidian pipe not next to another pipe, an item might’ve fallen into it (not sure), and it crashed. I should note that the pipe seemed to connect to an invisible pipe below it, the screen froze, MC crashed, and I’ve lost my test world.

Looking through this crash report again, I should note that the obsidian pipe was right above a part of one of the runes from the Runic Dust mod. I was going to use the obsidian pipe to collect smelted items coming from the Campfire rune, but then Minecraft crashed.

Found the Solution to my problem… I deactivated HD Textures and HD Font in MC Patcher. And now it works perfectly!!
Hey, just tested the mod out a bit.
I noticed that the Builder wont work atleast with a template.
Draw a new template and choose a name that works.
Put the template in a builder and put in some blocks and then it should start place the blocks the “game crash”…Game SP/SMP and server also crach.
Need to restart game and server to make it work agian after you have destory the builder and restart agian.
Builder does seem to work in SMP, however the architect table is bugged.
I created a blueprint in SSP, then copied it to the servers blueprint folder and builder worked. Although it left the dotted lines after it finished and I cant remove them

Hmm, no one else seems to have had this problem, but oil is not generating in my world. I made a brand new world, the game runs fine, i can get all other items fine through NEI, and i can place oil through NEI too (though texture looks different than before), but not 1 block has spawned naturally. Any help? I will try messing with settings in the meantime…
Nvmd about it looking different, i used wrong oil bucket XD, but i still have not seen any spawn

I have been playing this version now for a few days and i build an oilplatform. a few hundred block further i found another oilsource. I wanted to use the builder to copy my first platform but when i fill the builders inventory the game freezes and after 10 sec it crashes.

ooh and while i was playing i figured out that when i pull the lever to stop my combustion engines they wont restart when i put the power back on
Not sure about that error report, could you post your ForgeModLoader log, that’ll have more info on the problem.
Also, the combustion engines not restarting is an obscure feature, you need to wait for them to cool before you can restart them after stopping them.
I thought you had to wait for them to cool down first.

I have a problem with the iron pipes.
If I change the the pipe with a redstone signal (pipe signal), the pipe is invisible.
And if the server is empty, the signal can’t change the pipe.

I have a problem i cant get blueprints any possible way.. I have tried using singleplayer commands and give command nei toomany items and even tried creative And i also tried crafting it.. Is this a bug or did i do something wrong?

Hey, im having an issue, not sure if its a bug, or if its normal, been using buildcraft for ages now and this is the first time its happened (1.3.2 is the first time ive had the issue) basically i have a quarry set up powered by 3 stirling engines, with a single cobblestone pipline leading back to my chests for storage. What happens is the items it mines dont get pumped through the pipes and instead go directly into the 3 engines, sometimes replacing the coal, which just disappears. I first noticed this when i was using saplings for power i put a stack of 54 into one of the engines, then noticed the dirt wasnt going to my house and i didnt see it dropping, then i checked the engines and sure neough all of them were filled with dirt, about a half a stack each in the end.
i installed forge and put the buildcraft.jar into the mod folder…i only install this mod…every machine is working …only the pathmark did not work…every time i use the pathmark with the builder it crashed…and i also cannot connect two or more pathmarks…where is the bug?…i use minecraft 1.3.2 and installed forge and this mod for 1.3.2

Redstone engines are going to be useful in wooden pipes only now. No more powering machines with them.

How did you even came in to conclusion that you have to install Buildcraft in Minecraft JAR? And there is no Buildcraft for 1.4 yet.
Downgrade to 1.3.2 and fallow install instructions from message board.
id reccommend getting MultiMC. will allow multiple instances of the game (one modded, one not, whichever version) and helps make modding a lot easier

I have installed minecraft Forge 6.0.1 for minecraft 4.3.2, can I install still this mod or not?
minecraft 4.3.2? And to think I’m still stuck on 1.3.2 with a 4.x.x version of Forge. But as far as I know the 6.x.x versions of Forge only work with 1.4.2 so far. And Buildcraft hasn’t even been released for the 1.4.x yet, so I doubt that it would work with minecraft 4.3.2. You must be special (or a time lord) to have access to minecraft 4.3.2.
