@immibis: You drew a nice picture of how you can take a simple system and complicate it as if it is difficult to do…..for me, I just sent all my items from the farms to a central location, then distributed those items into various crafts and back out to the farms evenly. This didn’t require any LPs, and was as easy as using LPs when I changed to those. At one point I had a single pipe connecting each farm to the factory, and the factory combined these connections into a single pipe inward and worked bi-directionally as well…..which, to ME, had the exact same feel as using LPs, so my “feeling of accomplishment” was exactly the same. Can we move on from the fact that I am not like most humans on this planet? Thanks, moving on. |

@sabraith — Right you are. I’m a bit of a closet engineer. Designing and building the thing is more enjoyable than using it for me. That’s why I don’t understand the argument about laziness and such. Sure it might be lazy to have a pipe sticking out of your wall from which you can request any item in the game as if you were using TMI/NEI, and never manually craft anything again. However, for me, the game within the game is designing and building that system, and I never get around to using it. The extent of use it gets is in testing. I launch DOS attacks, check behavior for out of stock, overstock situations, buffer overruns, etc. And once I’m satisfied that it works, I give it a satisfied smile, log out and delete the world, because by now I’m teeming with so many new ideas that I’m itching to start anew. I’m a bit odd though. The beauty of this game is that there is no “right” way to play it. It’s a canvas for just about any play-style. Some folks may think LP are OP and regular BC pipes are the way to go. Others will tell you BC pipes are OP. Others still will say playing with any mods is cheating, or creative mode isn’t real Minecraft, or countless other egocentric assertions of individual preferences. IMO Minecraft is as successful as it is because of this freedom to make the game your own instead of restricting how individuals play it. |

> “And once I’m satisfied that it works, I give it a satisfied smile, log out and delete the world” That’s funny because I’ve gone through 7 worlds so far in the past month pretty much with the same feeling of “I’m done with this, I want to design something different.” My next task is to create a loop of massive amounts of sand and glass creation through EE and furnaces that will convert it to diamond (1 glass turns to 3 sand, and excess sand can be upconverted), just for the heck of it. Personally, I would have loved if Alb had made IC have pipes, where water can be circulated, heated by furnaces and cooled while producing power instead of an all-in-one-block style (with multiple blocks it gives you the ability to create your own massive sized nuclear power plant rather than that 3x3x3 block GUI screen…ug). That’s another story altogether though. |

Hey Krapht. This is an AMAZING mod. Edit – Ignore the below. I apparently can’t read thread titles like a normal person. ———————————————— That being said I’m trying to use this with better then buildcraft (the better than wolves/buildcraft collaboration). And without logistics pipes installed it works fine, and with the previous version (for 1.0.0) I could use logistics pipes great. But with 1.1.0. I’m getting this error: java.lang.VerifyError: (class: buildcraft/krapht/routing/RouteLaser, method: clear signature: ()V) Incompatible argument to function I knew this isn’t the standard setup for your mod but I figured asking here would be the best place to figure out who I probably need to talk to to see if I can get this to work. I was working my way up to logistics pipe sort of as the culmination of my mod so I definitely want it to work. Thanks!

Is it possible to do these things? If not, please make it possible. 1) I have a cobblestone generator. I don’t want to run it 24/7, because of lag. Instead, I want it to run, only when something in a Network requests cobblestone. 2) I have a reed farm. But I want to harvest it only when something in the Network requests reeds (again, to avoid unnecessary lag). 3) I have an automatic transmuter (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/927912-block-transmuter/) and I want Network to use it as a crafting pipe. |

Hello Krapht, nice work on this mod, very impressive. I do have a question for you or whomever may be able to help… Are Logistics pipes going to be compatible with Buildcraft 2.2.x only or will thay be available for 3.1.x? Sorry if it has been in the past, I just recently discovered there is two versions of buildcraft for minecraft 1.1 and I am trying to decide which group of mods to use based off what is going to be compatible. thx in advance |

@DiEvAl: 1. Cobblestone generator, like most any machine run by redstone, cannot be triggered by BC+LP by itself. However, if you get additional pipes, it comes with a redstone pipe which activates when an item goes through it. You can set up a loop from a chest that provides 64 pieces of sand inside it along with cobblestone (or any single item) and on the same chest have a craft pipe that is set up to turn “1 sand -> X cobblestone”. The loop contains a redstone pipe that activates your cobblestone factory for X seconds whenever it is triggered, and the cobblestone can be piped to the chest. Whenever your system needs cobblestone, it will let the craft pipe loop the sand item through the detector which activates the farm, and it will pull the cobblestone out of the chest. 2. same thing as above 3. Using a glitch in the game is not recommended, you never know how long the glitch will last in updates. Regardless, this ability is not viable in BC because pipes cannot expel liquids properly for that setup. @BobbyKraft: 3.x is being supported….there’s an entire topic for it. |
