Pumping peat into a full peat-fired engine puts it in the ash slots.
I’m looking for a work around this because I’d just like to automate all of my forestry farms.
Right now it seems I can pump the Peat into the engine and after the first slot is full it starts filling up the slots for ashes, so I tried to setup a system to pump the ashes and the extra peat to a diamond pipe to separate the two, then send
the peat back into the peat re-supply system, but that doesn’t work.
So I’m really just looking for a work around because I’ve pretty much exhausted all of my knowledge on the mods.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This was fixed in the last release. There is a workaround if you can’t update.

The engine has a gate trigger that say “< 25%" . This means that the gate will "ask for" peat if it's internal storage is lower than 25 %. You can use that to turn the supply on and off.

You don't need to pump ash out of the engine. The engine will send the ash into any connected pipe. So if you send in peat through a pipe, then ash will appear in the same pipe going the other way.

I've demonstrated this in my lets play, episode 5, if you can find it :)
